On April 27, 1944, a de Havilland DH.98 Mosquito NF Mk II of 141 Sqn. RAF was lost close to the village of Berg, not far away from Rheinbach, in Germany.
Mr. Oliver Thiel, along with a team of persons, including Mr. Christoph Reuter, found the watch, belonging to the pilot S/Ldr John Charles Noel FORSHAW, who along with navigator P/O Frank Smith FOLLEY were both killed in the crash.
The quest for the KIA pilot’s relatives by Mr. Oliver Thiel and his team is ongoing and any information, as to the KIA airmen’s descendants is welcome, in order for Mr. Thiel to return the watch to them.
