Mr. Michalis Vidalis from Crete, visited the WW2 German gun positions at Cape Spatha, overlooking the Mediterranean Sea and controlling the entrance to Kissamos Bay.

Mr. Vidalis said to www.ww2wrecks.com: “On the Northern coast of Crete, at Cape Spatha, the Germans had built a battery emplacement, including ammo dumps carved in the rocky mountains, as well as other auxiliary buildings to house the garrison.

The purpose of this gun battery was to protect the port of Chania and the beaches of Kissamos The main weapons of the battery were 150mm guns.
